Segway Experiences at Landal Kielder Waterside

Take a tour of Landal Kielder Waterside on your very own Segway! You’ve probably heard of a Segway by now as these have become increasingly popular over the years, now is the time for you to try one yourself. Here at Landal Kielder Waterside we offer an instructor led Segway tour that allows you to take in Kielder’s scenic beauty, and a wide variety of wildlife as you explore the Lakeside Way at a top speed of 12.5 mph.  After participating in our Segway experience you will be confident in operating a Segway safely and effectively, by navigating twists and turns during your experience. 

Each Segway tour lasts between 1 hour and 1.5 hours depending if you wish to embark on the extended tour or not. In order to take part in Landal Kielder Waterside’s Segway experience you must be aged 12 or over, each tour is priced between £35- £50 per person. 

Every session begins with a full safety brief and instructions on how to use our Segways by one of our trained GO Active team members. Once comfortable and ready your Segway tour will begin, your dedicated instructor will lead the tour around the Lakeside Way where you will see beautiful scenery within Europe’s largest man made forest, with a vast variety of wildlife and forest you will not be disappointed as there is plenty to see on the tour.

All in all you will cover around 10 kilometre during your tour as you venture further afield the Lakeside Way, with chances of spotting Ospreys (seasonal) and other Kielder wildlife. Many participants have encountered the  Roe Deer along the way.

Are Segways Safe?

When used correctly, Segways are a fun, futuristic mode of transport, by wearing all safety equipment provided, following rules and instructions provided by our Segway instructors and keeping a general look out for potential hazards on your journey, you’ll be sure to have a safe Segway experience. 

What to wear during your Segway experience? We highly recommend appropriate outdoor clothing that you are comfortable in including sturdy shoes.
